Kitchens

This kitchen was featured in the Yorkshire Post Homes supplement; its inspiration came from an original cupboard above door at the other side of the room. This was copied throughout the kitchen to match the original. The pot sink had been in the garden for years.

This small kitchen in a stone cottage high on the moors near Huddersfield had to be carefully planned to look authentic and not close in the small space. Hence the reconditioned oven, the old brass taps and no wall units.

The toe space beneath the units is eight inches deep giving the appearance of freestanding units, while showing off the stone flags and making the floor appear wider.

The kitchen we built for this stone cottage had to be small because we didn’t want to disturb the original fireplace set at an angle in one corner. We also wanted to reflect the character of our clients, an artist and a musician. Here we used old school science benches for the worktops. Cast iron hinges were used on Victorian pine doors with a mix of original doorknobs and handles. The coloured panels are old car body panels from a scrap yard and still sporting their original paint.
